In 1985 he founded Matrix, a Dutch software company focused on the growing market for customer relationship management (CRM). Matrix quickly became the dominant CRM vendor in The Netherlands and one of the largest in Europe with over 150 employees and offices throughout Europe. In 1997 Matrix was acquired by the Baan Company. Mr. Scholten is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and is the author of numerous articles on high technology sales and marketing.
